Meet me!

A normal physiologic labor and birth is one that is powered by the innate human capacity of the woman and fetus. This birth is more likely to be safe and healthy because there is no unnecessary intervention that disrupts normal physiologic processes.

A little bit about me…

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a professionally trained doula and photographer. I’m also a mother, step-mom, dog-mom, and a grandmother to a little 3-year-old girl and a 2- year-old boy!

I grew up in Norway, the land of one of the world’s best birth outcomes, and learned a thing or two from there about birth. My mother was born at home, and I was born at a birth center with a midwife. She often told me my birth was much easier than she thought it would be, so I had positive feelings about birth from the start!

I started my birth education when I got pregnant with my first. I read everything I could get my hands on, watched birth videos, and studied midwifery textbooks.

I was obsessed.

Working with women and birth was always something I wanted to do, but it was on the back burner for a while I raised my kids and developed a career in photography (my second love, alongside ballet and art). In the interim, I acted as a doula and birth educator for family and friends.

I’m so grateful to be doing this work now and thankful to the women who entrust me with their care. I do my utmost to make every mama feel like the goddess and creator she is –– to support her birth choices, to offer her physical and emotional support, and to be a witness to her journey.
